Stepping back from the meditation teacher training for a moment, I noticed something about pace.
A cue can take only a few seconds to say, but much longer to experience.
“Notice your hands” is simple. Actually feeling them may take ten or twenty seconds.
I feel life can be like that too.
A conversation that became honest only after a silence. A meal you could appreciate because you were not rushing. An idea that clicked when you gave it space. Strength that grew during recovery. A relationship that grew through small ordinary moments. A participant who found the answer after the facilitator stopped speaking.
Maybe pace isn’t only about how quickly we move. Maybe it’s also about giving something enough time to land.
I wonder if this is one of the lessons life has been trying to teach me.
Sometimes, the most helpful thing is simply time.
